The blade nut will come off the same direction as the blade rotates. If the blade is US then clamp in a vice or push into something soft and find a suitable spanner for the blade nut. Wack the spanner by tapping it with the blade either held of grabbed. the bolt should come loose. Also look at your blade and see if it has a hole, if so place a strong screwdriver through the blade and this will hold it while you undo.
