My Black and Decker GL720 has just failed (one month outside the warranty) and it is the plastic toothed wheel that has worn smooth. This seems to be the only part I cannot buy for it and would have to buy a complete motor (costing more than the strimmer). Anybody know where I can get a plastic wheel or a broken GL720 with the wheel in good shape?

This is becoming common problem. Phone Solent Tools 023 8057 8057 oe email them with your details sales@solenttools.co.uk. Solent Tools can arrange a collection of your machine and will if possible get the machine repaired or exchanged. The belt should fail before the gear. The reason the gear is not sold on its own is due to an allignment problem (ie special tooling required)
