Why does the oven go out when the knob is released?

I have a Beko gas cooker DG 582, when lighting the oven you hold the knob in for about 10 secs this worked fine until yesterday now each time to let the oven knob go it goes out iv held it for longer then 20 secs and still no good can you help?

Yep - your oven needs a new thermocouple....this is a device that the oven flame plays onto, and it sends a signal to the gas valve to keep the gas flowing once its lit. Its a safety device that shuts the gas off should the oven blow out. Time to call out a registered fitter, I'm afraid.
