nothing happens when on?

Hi,
JVC GR-DVX707EK
When I turn on my Video camera to record, nothing happens, but when I replay a video I have taken it is OK?

So you are saying that in camera mode the camcorder appears to have no power, but once you switch it to VCR mode it works normally? If that is the case it may be an issue with the cam/vcr switch.
