how to fix interior lights vw sharan 2000 w reg newer shape?

the interior lights have stopped working in my vw sharan 1.8t 20valve sport. w reg 2000. i have looked at the fuse board but fuses the lights appear to be linked with are working. ie the interior light symbol is with the central locking and that works fine. any suggestions.

Had the same fault on my 2003 sharan tdi (205,000miles!) Fault was found at the central locking unit which had burned out the wires that power the interior lights. My mechanic repaired the wires, took a while to trace but now working fine. hope this helps.

Check the wiring looms to the doors and tailgate. Open the door, unscrew the black connector and pull back the flexi covering to expose the wires. I had the same problem with my lights and two looms had snapped wires.
