WHAT SIZE ENGINE WILLL FIT 25" REAR SNAPPER?

GOT OLD 25" SNAPPER THOUGHT I WOULD BE NO PROBLMB
GETTING REPLACEMENT ENGINE.THINK AGAIN NOW IT A QUIEST
THAY DONT MAKE A REPLASTMENT ANY MORE. AND CANT GET ANSWDER FROM ANY ONE..SURE THERE LOT THAT SHAFT
WILL MATCHT UP. BUT DONT WANT TO MAKE TO MISTAKES

Any Briggs or Tecumseh engine from 5HP up will bolt straight on - however, engines are available with varous diameter and length cranks. Just make sure the engine you get has the same size and length crank (measured from the mounting flange, NOT from the bottom of the sump casting). Most engines of this size that were intended for mower use will be OK - you will only have a problem if you get an engine intended for some other application (rotovator.tiller or whatever).
