turning off oil burner during warm weather?

Is it practical and/or harmful to turn off the oil burner during the day if we have no need to heat water. We have a hot water system which produces our hot water through the oil burner.

not harmful, but you should have a timer fitted to allow you to time you hot water & ch as you require.
