i have known a couple jump teath on the belt, but they had slack belts and both were bump started causing jumps.more concerned with turbo ,impellers should spin with very little resistance, remember they are driven by exhaust gases.infrequent oil changes can cause bearing failure.a very rough test is to feel the exhaust at the tail pipe. little pressure there could indicate problems with turbo and or blocked exhaust
