Thermal cutout?

When turning on a shower & using the temperature control Knob to get the right water heat for a shower, DOES the Thermal Cutout control the heat of this water please. the shower in question is a Neptune Solo about 3yrs old.

Hello Hi -Spec Plumbing & Heating, Re your ? to my shower prob Tues 10th (what is it doing when you turning it on ?
not heating, to hot, etc give abit more info.) the shower is Neptune Solo, power setting knob on = not -, I have to keep temp knob on fixed setting, if I try turning setting to cooler it gets hotter, try turning setting to hotter it gets scalding, have done test removing shower head & turning to max hot, only a dribble, then turning to max cold, full flow.
yours sincerely,
bill turner.

Thankyou Hi Spec Plumbing & Heating for your reply to my Prob, re my Neptune Solo Shower, as the tco is not the problem, can you advise whether I need to fit a new Flow Valve please, or could the only 2 other possibles be the Solonoid or Microswitch,
hoping you can help me please.

no thats not how a electric shower works.
the tco is working all the time unless the flow of water stops or is restricted then the tco will cut out stopping the elements over heating.

the flow of the water controls how hot it is.
water passing over the element fast the water is cool
water passing over the element slow the water is hot.
