Thanks to this forum I have managed to fix my Ford Galaxy.
My front wipers were not working properly. They would work for about two or three turns when they were first switched on. Then they would just stop. I would maybe then get half a turn every couple of minutes.
My husband took the whole wiper system apart and found that they were seized up and the reason they would work for a little while was until the motor got too hot and cut out.
My husband took the wiper spindles off, greased them and put them back together.
They now work fine. And it didn't cost me a penny!!
I have made this sound simple - the whole system of removing the wiper machanism isn't simple and did take a couple of hours, a few cuts and bruises, and a little sore language!! But it is possible to fix yourself, without having to replace, the fuse, the relay or the motor as I was advised to do - probably at a cost of a few hundred pounds.
