How can I fix my Dyson DC04?

My Dyson DCO4, I think (de still) hoovers about a 16 x 12 room and then cuts out. Someone says it is the start button failing? Someone says it could be overheating. Hoover itself is fine with all suction airways clear and no loss of suction - just cuts out. Any help would be appreciated.

Have a look here :http://www.clayraku.fsnet.co.uk/Dyson/switch.html : it shows you how to take the switch out so you can check the cable.
