Posted the reply in 2009 about motion industries-still using the belts supplied by them suspect the price will have gone up since 2009 but the belts that they supplied me were optibelt which is a premier brand-they have been fine and i would not hesitate to recomend these guys

I rang Aldi about replacement belts all they could do was to give me an e mail address of a manafacturer abroad. (Rubbish) I rang Motion Industries on 01617051237 very helpful and supplied two better quality belts including postage and package it worked out cheaper than the last ones I bought 4 years ago through Aldi.

The belt on my Gardenline lawn rake (GVM 600) has just broken on only the second use. I did not manage to use it in total, for longer than four hours! The machine was also purchased from Aldi and, in my opinion, is not fit-for-purpose.

Thanks to all the helpful posts, at least I know where to purchase replacement belts.

Although this was a gift at Christmas, I do intend to pursue a complaint, through to Small Claims if necessary. Aldi staff were totally disinterested in my complaint. I will stick to Tesco in future as they seem to support their product selection with customer service.

Hello all, bought the lawn rake in ?2007 or 2008, only second time used and the drive-belt snapped. I agree with previous comments, is this item fit for purpose? Thanks for the 'say no to 0870' number.

Mine broke-got two belts from Motion Industries
£10 inc p+p-tel 0161 705 1237 they are in north manchester seem better quality belts and they work fine

I too am on to the 4th belt for this lawn rake. They replaced it the first time it broke (Gardenline) but are now saying they would only replace it the first time as it is not really covered in the 3 year warranty. I bought it from the local Aldi.

My belt also snapped on gvm-800 within warrenty period I found belts through wolf.tv too expensive.
I phoned 01623 758 666 given by TONKA and was on hold for some time. However the Technical sales are reached on a new number which is 08707 35 35 00. spares cheaper through omega wharf.
3 BELTS FOR £13.98 + £3.99 P&P.
As I live in Scotland it would have cost £28.48 through Wolf.tv

The GVM-600 drive belt on my ALDI Garden Line Lawnrake has just failed. This is only the 3rd time I have used it, around 5 hours since new. IS IT 'FIT FOR PURPOSE'?

I agree. My belt has failed for the fourth time and Omega are refusing to honour their 3 year guarantee. I have written to Aldi (where I bought it) but on principle will go to small claims court if Omega don't honour guarantee. This model is hopeless if it fails so often

OmegaWolf seem to be the firm handling spares. However I am very unhappy with them, claiming that belt failures on a GVM-600 lawnrake after only 4-5 hours of usage is "normal wear and tear" and refusing to honour the so-called 3 year guarantee.
Also this reflects badly on stores selling Gardenline unfortunately
