My Indesit washing machine gets some way through a wash cycle and then the program select switch clicks round to end of program position and the power on lamp flashes 5 times. Sometimes the program select switch continues to click round & round - Anyone have any ideas on what the 5 flashes mean - Obvioucel some kind of self diagnostics. Indesit have been particularly unhelpfull.

Thanks Marsha I have a look at the brushes but this machine is really quite new so unlikely to be the problem unless there is some quality problem with the brushes for example. I have to say that info from Indesit is not very helpfull - I guess they want to keep the service work for themselves. Thanks anyway.

Hi,

My Indesit W123 washing machine had the same problem in December and my Uncle had a look at it and noticed that the brushes had worn down, because of this they were not long enough to touch where they should. I got the brushes replaced and the washer was running smoothly again until now, the same thing has happened again. I hope this has been of some help!
