after a power cut my alarm will only set on the manufacturers code?

A light bulb blew in my upstairs light and tripped the electric which set off my veritas alarm. This then went off for 1 hour and the only way to stop it was to enter the manufacturers code of 4321. The alarm will only now set on this code and once set does not give me enough time to get to the box to enter the code before the alarm goes off. it does not make the beeping to allow me to put the code in, hence giving me no time and the alarm sounds straight away. The battery was replaced approx 6 months ago as had previous power cut. i am currently setting the alarm using 4321 and omitting zone 1 so can get to the panel without the alarm sounding! Please Help!!!

Even if you completely remove all power from these systems, they should still remember the codes/settings etc as that information is stored on what's called non-volatile memory. However, yours seems not to have done. You will need it re-programmed, which you can so yourself quite easily. If you are prepared to post an email address here (id make a temp one up) i will gladly assist you.
