I've just recently been given L reg clio liberte D 1.9 diesel, it started first time but run out of diesel, i try starting it with out knowing it was out of diesel a few times, then realised and put 1/3 of tanks diesel in it but still can not start it. The fuel pump does not seem to have any effect. Can you help?

The fuel system needs to be primed before it will start to get rid of any air trapped in there. Undo the plastic valve on top of the fuel filter, and operate the primer bulb or button slowly until fuel runs out. Then open the 8mm bleed nipple on top of the injection pump and repeat the process. You should now be able to start up!
