how can i fix my aeg competence 5212 bu double oven?

I have changed the element on my aeg competence 5212 bu double oven, the bottom oven, the one with the fan. The light comes on but nothing else, the fan does n't rotate either. could it be the 'knob' control as it doesnt 'click' when turned or could it be the thermostat inside (i think that is what it is) the original element was broke and I thought that was it ...how can I find out what is wrong? thanks,

Thanks for the info ck. When you say 'mounted on the back of the oven cavity' do you mean 'on the back of the oven itself (not inside) will I have to remove the oven from it's housing? (it's built into a unit) and will it be visible to the naked eye or will i need some sort of tester? thanks

there might be a cutout stat mounted to the back of the oven cavity that has blown or gone open circuit
