Briggs & Stratton 3.5Hp still not working?

Bob of GB and Phil Saunders kindly suggested some checks when I first asked for help. I have since cleaned the tank from water, the filters and replaced the diaphragm; yet to no avail since it starts but dies unless continuing to prime. Obviously it is fuel starved possibly due to loss in the pressure which drives the diaphragm. Any thoughts on possible seals which might be faulty?

Thanks for any thoughts.

Hi there is still a problem in the diaphragm area. There is a gasket and a diaphragm - did you get them on in the right order? If you did, and the diaphragm didn't get folded when you installed it, the only thing left is an obstruction in the passage that conveys manifold vacuum to the diaphragm (quite likely if there was water in the carb). The best you can do is attempt to clean all the passages n the tank body with a piece of copper wire stripped out of some electrical cable. This may work, but I have had to scrap several tanks because of this problem. On the other hand, if you have access to an ultrasonic cleaning tank, that's worth a try.
