Can I use unleaded furl in Ford Escort 1.4 from 1988?

Without mods to engine

Most Fords can use unleaded they just need an adjustment to the ignition timing, which is best done by your local Ford dealer to ensure you dont damage your engine and that your car runs satisfactorily. Talk to the dealer first that at least is free.

Information taken from Mobile unleaded Application and Availability Guide.

no, but go to any auto parts store and buy a lead substitute and add it to reg. unleaded gas.that'll do the trick for ya.

i had a 1.4 ghia f reg and was told by ford that it had the hardened valves so it was ok for unleaded. Just to be safe pop down the Ford garage and they will tell you for sure :)
