Range Rover Tensioner?

I had the tensionser on my 1992 Range Rover replaced, along with changing the oil. I pulled the car off of the lot of the mechanic's shop who replaced it and drove five miles, at which point the engine overheated and blew a head gasket. Approximately $2,500 additional repair job.

Is there any possible relationship between the work done and the engine blowing a head gasket?

How to change alternator on Range Rover 1995 Model P38

head gskts can blow at any time.had one once where parked up ,tried to start 10 mins later to have it run on only 2 of 4cyl guessing the tensioner u replaced was alternator drive belt.if that was not done right u would have seen charge light on ur 5 mile journey.not what u want to hear but blown head gskts are a fact of life.
