The fuel gauge in my 1998 Peugeot 306 is not working. It internittently shows 1/4, so I guess it is not the fuse, but most days, it shows as empty.
Any ideas?

assuming similar error is not on temp gauge indicating voltage stabaliser fault,then u need to find the electric wire that goes into the tank removing this and touching it to car bodywork(clean metal)will make the gauge show full tank if guage and circuitry are ok,if so then fuel sender in the tank is faulty.remove and replace.
