Yo.. Disconnest from mains, remove Impeller shroud ( side clips) remove Impeller & washer. Clean all thoroughly, gently rub inside of shroud ( the white nylon bit) and the edges of the Impeller with fine glasspaper or wire wool then re-fit, washer very important. when re-fitting impeller, place on shaft with washer under then fit shroud. Only tighten Impeller nut after fully fitting shroud so it self centres. turn impeller by hand, should move easily, if not ,make sure you replaced washer under impeller, try more glasspaper if fouling. if that does not work suspect condenser or ? Worked for me.

Can anyone tell me what is the micro switch model for sanivite and when I was changing the capacitor the oil leaked is this bad or can I top it up .

Geraldine, January 2014
I called the engineer for this and he mended it. Within a month it was occasionally buzzing again and now 3 months later its like it was before he `fixed` it. Draw your own conclusions. His fee was £160!

Thanks. Had same problem. Disconnected electricity. Took off pipes, then lid, removed locking screws, pulled out motor and electrics bit, turned it upside down, push switch didn't click, so removed micro switch and replaced with one from maplins for two quid. Sorted.

Can water get into the inductor motor and cause a short-circuit?

I just cleaned my knackered unit and there was a lot of fibre and hair (its used on a washing machine). A lot was wrapped around the impellor spindle so Im thinking the finer strands have got into the main seal and broken the seal from the grubby elements into the motor housing.

When the switch isnt pressed i can turn the RCD for the ring main on fine, when it is pressed it immediately blows the circuit. Im thinking if water had leaked into the switch unit then I wouldnt be able to turn it on at all, so it must be power going to the motor causing the problem. Either a short-circuit due to water ingress or something entirely different wrong with the actual motor itself. Or would a bad capacitor also cause this problem?

Any ideas?

Thanks for your help

We have a SaniVite3 pump that was used for a while, then held in storage for 3 years. We have just installed it again and the pressure pad will not detect the water, thus the pump doesn't activate. However, when we push the pad with our fingers, it does register and the pump does then activate. Is there anything that can be adjusted to increase the sensitivity, or is this not the answer?

Hello, yes i fixed it, it was the capacitor.
Get drawing from this site.
http://www.saniflo.ca/downloads/installation/Sanishower,Sanipump,Sanivite_TechDataEFR_May07.pdf

Take unit apart, find capacitor inside (item 38 from Drawing) also called a condenser.; order spare from saniflo parts dealer £25 , refit and seal float switch chamber membrane (15) with red hermatite sealant.

It uses a spilt phase induction motor that has no brushes and is therefore very reliable, nothing else can break on it.

However, my Sanivite 3 now pumps for 2 seconds every 30 secs, but I think this due to non return valve flap - maybe I tightened the jubilee clip to much and deformed it.

I have the same problem and I am not sure whether to try to open it or not. Have you found an answer? Would be grateful to hear what you did..

Thanks,
