Dyson DC 07 Stops every 5-10 mins?

Can anybody help, my husband has taken it apart twice, cleaned all the filters and replaced the motor one - but the darn thing still cuts out. Think it must be something to do with the thermal cut out.
Can the thermal cut out be fixed and how?
If it is not that any other ideas on what it can be?

Eric's reference is excellent. It saved me lots of time and/or ££s. I put Sellotape over the switch cover and drilled it in two stages. The result was very clean and certain.

Dyson hoovers have a problem with the mains cable breaking where it goes through the plastic housing to the switch, this can cause the hoover to stop intermitantly. If you want to check this, go here : http://www.clayraku.fsnet.co.uk/Dyson/switch.html : it will show you how to take the switch out so you can check the cable.
