Worcester 24i rsf ignition Problem?

This boiler is 'hunting' when the hot tap is turned on, it does eventually light, but my wife is getting so fed up with it she is boiling the kettle. It seems to light quicker if the central heating is flicked on at the same time, though I dont know if this is just in my head as it might of worked once. Had a plumber to it who replaced a switch and charged £70, but it is no better and I am reluctant to get him back as I am not convinced of his ability and would rather keep the money I don't have in my pocket. Please help..

this can be one of a few problems, firstly the inline water filter (filters mains water into the boiler) maybe partially blocked, isolate mains water, remove and clean, the flow sensor maybe cruded or faulty (assume this is what your serviceman replaced) and lastly the dhw thermister maybe faulty

but eitherway, why do people pay servicemen when the problem isnt fixed? If I brought my brokendown car to the garage and when I collected it they said sorry mate, changed a few bits, its still not working thouh, here's the bill, i'd tell them to f**k off!
