ford fiesta 1.1 LX 1994 M Reg front door lock removal?

Hi,

I hope someone can help me. I have the car stated in the subject line, the front passenger door lock has come loose, meaning i can't open the front passenger door using the key, i have to open it from the inside.

I've taken the door panel off with no problem, but the lock barrel is hidden behind a black metal housing which i need to remove in order to get to the lock barrel and refit it.

I can't see how to remove this black cover, can someone please help me and tell me how i can remove this black cover so i can refit the lock barrel? It seems the clip holding the barrel from the rear has slipped of over time, looks like it shouldn't be too difficult to repair just if i can get to it!!

Many thanks for any help anyone can give.

i have now sorted this, and i though it write how so other people might find it useful.

It was rather easy really!! it turned out that the black metal cover housing the lock unit was fixed to the runner inside the door that feeds the window down into the door. follow the runner down and at the bottom of the door undo the screw holding the bottom of the runner in place and at the top (next to the lock) on the edge of the door, undo the screw holding the top of the runner inplace. now the internal door runner AND the black housing hiding the lock can be removed allowing easy access to the back of the lock barrel and handle.
