hard to start B&S 37 egine fitted to Rover quickstart mower?

I bought this mower from Bunnings Marion Store March 2008 and have always had difficulty with starting when it has been standing for a few days. I have followed the priming instructions to the letter and there are times when it takes up to 4 primes to start. Other times it wont start at all and I have leave it for a few hours and even then it takes at least 3 primes to start. My next door neighbour has a similar unit and he has no trouble with starting. Can you help pleaase.

Are you referring to the number of times you have to push the primer bulb, or the number of prime-start-stall out-prime cycles you are going through? Either way, most B&S engines take at LEAST 5 priming strokes to start and continue running. I know it says prime 3 tmes on the engine, but that only applies when brand new. All my equipment (7 engnes n total) take at least 5 and sometmes up to 8 stokes (particularly in cold weather).
