Speedfight 2, 100cc, been standing a year and won't start?

Hi, I decided to try and start up my 7 year old Speedfight today, (after more than a year standing idle) so, I put on a brand new battery as I knew the old one to be knackered, and I kicked it over, but nothing. Any thought's on what the most likely causes would be as it has been standing for such a long time? I'll get down to sorting the problem pending an answer or two.
Thank's, Chris.

Drain the fuel out and put new fresh fuel in, theres no point mixing it because of all the cr*p in the tank, best to drain it.
New spark plug aswell, should fire straight up after them

VOLATILE PARTS OF PETROL EVAPORATE OVER TIME.FUEL PROBABLY WOULDNT BURN WITH A BLOW TORCH. JUNK ALL FUEL IN TANK AND CARB.HOPE THAT EVAPORATION IN CARB FLOAT BOWL HASNT LEFT THE USUAL JUNK(IF IT HAS U NEED TO STRIP AND CLEAN CARB)FILL WITH FRESH FUEL AND A NEW SPARK PLUG WOULDNT HURT.
