Lower deck all the way down (on to the ground). If it won't go far enough to rest on the floor, put some packing under it. The idea is to get the tention off the deck hangers.
Remove the drive belt. It should be possible to get this off without unbolting anything, but you may need to remove a belt guide around one or both pulleys.
Take a look at the deck hangers. Where they attach to the deck, they are secured with 1/2" pins and 'R' clips. Pull out the clips, and push out the pins.
Raise deck using the height lever. This will raise the hangers and leave the deck stting on the floor.
Slide the deck out sideways (difficult but not impossible). If you have help, lift the front of the tractor and wheel it backwards clear of the deck.
It's taken longer to type this than to actually do it - it's not a big deal.
