how do i release the bonnet on a ford focus?

where is the bonnet release on the Ford Focus 1.8tdci 06 plate

Thanks for this help. I'm currently in Spain with a rented Ford Focus. Now I have 'holiday' Spainish, but "how do you put water in the washers?" is not covered.

Mind you the guy who handed the car over told me it needed petrol (Gasolina) and it's most def a diesel engine. I do wonder what would have happened if I'd put petrol in and who would have picked up the bill for that one.

Guess quality control has not hit this part of Spain. :(

Hi Andrea, If you go to the front of your car and on the grille you have your ford oval badge which swivels up to allow you to fit in your key, which you turn once to open the bonnet, then turn the opposite way to release the safety catch, then lift the bonnet. Just make sure you do not leave your key under there before you close your bonnet, or you will have to find your spare key. Regards Sean
