Why does my peugeot 50cc engine keep coughing, spluttering and popping?

My engine started popping and backfiring the other day so i tried a new spark plug, i put new reed valves in and a new carburettor also i did a compression test, and that is fine..

Any ideas?

My bike is a peugeot trekker, recently had a speedfight 2 engine put in, from a 52 plate speedfight.

take the carb off put petrol down the engine when it start then just pore slightly a lil more petrol in see if it sounds good iff it does u need a new carb

i would say need new ht lead, does it ride ok or has it just got no power??

assuming fuel is ok?not contaminated?filler cap vent clear?tank filter clean?id try switching coil and plug cap next.
