will it ever stop?

my mower smokes real bad when i start it and it looks like oil is coming out of the carburater and even the exhaust. will this stop? should i start looking for a new mower? it's got a briggs and straten engine (4.5 HP).

Have you a) overfilled it or b) turned it upside down/sideways? If either of these is true, it will smoke until the excess oil in the muffler and air filter has burned off.

Don't let it run too long if it is overflled - it will blow a crank seal.

Make sure the mower isn`t overfilled and recheck
Most cases when it blows oil out of carb and exhaust the rings are going bad
