John Deere LT155 no spark?

I have a John Deere LT155. It was back firing so I cleaned the spark plug and cleaned the air filter that was clogged with cottonwood seeds. Ran for a day and then started back firing again the next time I took it out. Finally it just quit running. Now I don't have any spark. Any thoughts? Is it an ignition part?

Try a NEW plug. Could still be electrically duff even if you clean it.
