Replacement of Plastic rear wheel insert bushing?

I have a Craftsman Lawn Mower model 917.387430 with 14 in. rear wheels. After many years of service the rear wheels are wobbly and after removing the nut that holds the wheel to the spindle I noticed a plastic slide in insert that was totally rounded out. This appears to be an attempt at a wheel bearing.
My question: Can I replace just the plastic sleeve bearing instead of buying the entire rear wheel @ 25.00 plus p/wheel?

Jim.
I'm afraid I haven't got an answer for you, but if you do manage to find a source for the plastic bushes pleeeeease let me know. I have the same problem as you. The parts list does not show the bushes as a seperate item. Seems excessive to have to replace the entire wheel!
Thanks
