Rewiring a Dyson DC04?

The main wire from my Dyson DC04 is nearly disconnected from the actual vacuum cleaner. I know this should be an easy task, and one which I've done before on my vax. The problem is I can't for the life of me see how to access the cable terminals inside the vacuum cleaner. I've looked for all kinds of clips, screws etc but cannot find anything. Any help would be appreciated.

I got the switch out eventually using a bent bradal, pushed at a angle down the back of the button and twisted and the button pops out as above. Also a bit of good advice from another website is to drill a small hole under the button lock edge thro into the hose storage area. This allows you to press the clip in from the hose side using a small screwdriver next time this happens !!! I have had the problem twice - my wife thinks the cable will stretch if you pull it hard enough. !!

The information above is correct. Even following this I managed to break off the plastic lug. It probably needs a special tool to do it easily

Down the side of the on/off switch when viewed from the top is a tiny hole. In theory you put a small screwdriver or thin blade down the side of the switch, depress a spring tag built into the switch button and the button then comes out. Below this a screw, undo to remove and rewire switch. I only found out the hard way (by breaking it first). Hallelujah for Araldite.
