We have had a thermocouple fitted because the pilot light wont stay?

we have a worcester 9.24 electronic bf and the pilot light will
not stay on when you let go of the valve. We have had a new thermocouple fitted but still no different, we have now been told we need a new gas valve..how much do they normally cost and to fit?? also does this sound right to you
Thanks

remember you need a corgi rg installer to carry out work the gas valve is most likely the prob have had this before will prob cost £150-£200 dependant on price of parts

It is the gas valve , what happens is when the thermocouple heats up it produces a current, this holds a solenoid in the gas valve open to let in gas, a wire in the solenoid has broken & valve will not stay open, solenoid itself is not replaceable so its a new valve & they vary greatly in price,my own cost £42 from online dealer. It only took me 1/2 hr.
