I have a riding lawn mower that I could start it by jumping if off with my car and using a screw driver to bypass the charge on the solenoid switch. Now it doesn't say anything. What do you think it could be? It is a craftsman, 42" 6 speed, model # 28N707, type 0173-01, Briggs & Straton 15.5 HP OHV Turbo cool engine.

The best thing to do is to take the starter motor off and test it on the bench to see if it spins when you put 12v across it. If it does, then it looks like you have a solenoid problem.
