Hotpoint WD860 trips main house breaker?

The machine is half way through a wash cycle and has tripped the main house breaker.
If the breaker is reset the machine runs for approx 15 seconds then trips again?

could be many things unplug motor and try again poss brushes or over heated water pump even leak could be heat element but would blow elec straight away i put my money on motor brushes

mine has done the same twice now(quite old) on mine it was the brushes in the main motor.
disconnect from mains, take back off, stand away and start it up again, have a look...mine flashes, spits and farts and does not sound healthy.
brushes dead easy to replace, slot in type normally, mines on it's third set, replaced twice myself.
but Unplug from mains before doing anything please!!!!

This usually means that the main heating element is starting to pack in....either that or the motor windings are failing. Anyway, I'm sure that a full breakdown isn't too far away, unfortunately.
