How do I replace a timer for a glowworm 24ci?

The timer for my glowworm 24ci keeps running slow , so taking advice I shall have to replace the timer. Is this a straight forward job?

If the time clock is digital/LCD try switching off electricity supply to boiler for a couple of hours and then recheck to see if that put things right. If its a mechanical type u will need to change it. The instructions can be found in installation/service book
