Veritas R8 Internal Siren?

Hi,

We have a Veritas R8 system installed. On setting, the internal siren beeps. This is very loud (wakes the neighbours up).

Is there a way of disabling this - i.e. only having the control panel sounding on setting the alarm? At the moment the control panel only sounds if we press full twice.

The pot you refer to will adjust the exit entry tones but depending on the software version the R8 can actually be programmed for silent set at night.

On pressing part there are no sounds at all from keypad or speaker.

On later models the keypad bleeps once at the end of the setting period. The Texecom panels are one of the few that also do soft entry clicks after a part setting so if you get up early you dont get the full sound bleeps like other panels.

You would need engineering access to reprogramme this feature.

Problem sorted.

There is a pot (variable resistor) on the PCB - if you turn this clockwise it reduces the volume of the internal siren. I did set the tamper alarm off twice while trying to get the cover off though!
