ford escort r reg clutch pedal pivot broken?

under clutch pedal is a white plastic pivot and spring ,the pivot which has teeth is brocken and pedal has sunk to the floor how do i fix and put back. can someone please help me?

the teeth sheer on the plastic ratchet@pawl rendering it needing replaced.to fit new parts the pedal carrier assemby must be removed from car .now you can strip out the worn parts taking care so that you re-fit new parts correctly especialy the springs@bushes. this is a tricky we job and should only be attempted if you are mechanicly minded since the brake pedal has to be dissconnected this is a safety issue
