ive got a knocking noise when i rev the car when driving or when i press the clutch down any ideas on what could be wrong and how to fix it?

get someone u TRUSTto sit in drivers seat withyou looking in the open bonnet at the engine/gbox while they engage clutch and first gear and lift clutch to point where engine moves in mountings then reverse gear.ur looking for and listening for exesive engine lift/rock especially rear gbox and front mountings.dont do this too much as u can glaze the clutch.DELICATELY.
