Fridge section not working on Servis M7665FF?

The fridge section of this Servis M7655FF is not working while the freezer section works OK. I wanted to check the thermostat but I could not get the black plastic cover of it. I did not want to force it off. Does anyone know the secret please?

Probably one of the components have failed this i found out after a service company who operate in the london area www.agsrefrigeration.co.uk came and replace faulty part.

I have found over time that my Servis M263 w Fridge/Freezer will stop working in both compartments, if I have left the press button switches(of which there are three,Max,Med, Min.) on too cold a setting,i.e. Max or Med,, when the ambient temperature surrounding the base of the f/f ,is also cold. This seems to have an effect on the condensation tube icing up. Simple answer was when the red light flashes warning of problem, switch off the f/f for a few hours, until icing up has melted ,and then switch on again, and hey presto! May need to rescue freezer contents if takes more than a few hours, but in five years I have done this (in winter months) three times and it works.

Right, firstly very good advice from Ado below tyvm, this worked initially for me.The drain nozzle was all gunked up,removed the panel inside the freezer and the metal unit behind(the refrigeration unit? idk the correct term) had a fair amount of ice around the base of it.After removing the ice the compressor & fan kicked back to life and the appliance worked for a good 30-36 hrs before I noticed that it had stopped again.Removed the panel again and it started, this time it packed up after about 12-15hrs.The unit has made a loud 'cracking' sound occasionally since new but i've never paid that much attention to it as the unit has worked fine. However this current fault appears to be connected to this loud noise.Ive not contacted Servis as yet ,and will do just wanted to put this info on the net.
So ,any ideas as to the fault? will update soon

I would remove the back plate as advised and defrost ALL the iced up area around the thermostat etc and THEN check the drainage tube to the compressor...the little rubber nozzles get blocked with dirt and dust over time and if this is blocked the condensed water that needs to escape has no where to go which is why it's icing up in the first place. Once you have defrosted (a hairdryer will speed this up, but be very careful not to blister the soft plastic walls of the freezer!) your fridge and freezer 'should' work again. This is for most models of frost free servis fridge freezers. No need to call in a Servis Engineer unless it doesn't work after doing this first.

Hi, I have the same problem

Any ideas?

Amazingly the fridge started working again without being serviced! Thanks for your input Simon. Apologies for not replying sooner.
I think I'll defrost the fridge-freezer in case it's iced up somewhere.

Thanks for your help Simon. I'll let you know what happens.

Hi,
You have a system fault not a thermostat problem. If you pull out the false back panel in the freezer section and there is ANY ice build up in there get servis to replace it. If this is the stainless steel coloured model to get the black panel off you have to prise it quite forcefully. It is glued on with a soft glue that never sets really hard. Takes some prising though I can tell you!
But you will be wasting you time as the fault is in the freezer section although it is the fridge that is not working. (pain in the rear these frost free units)
Kepp me informed....Cheers.
