I'm struggling to get my gears in my ford mondeo estate, Ghia P reg. What could be the problem?

remove the gear stick gaiter and check the linkage unit is tight. this will cause the gears to be difficult to engage if loose. i have had this problem on my 1999 mondeo and once tightened this cured the concern.
