flat spot?

flat spot on mondeo st220 (03)
when pulling away in first gear i hit a flat spot,been told it could be the air idler valve. what does anybody think?

Very unlickely! more lickely to be either the Airflow sensor or the throttle position sensor as the ecu will use the demand signals from the position sensor to increase the fueling and advance the ignition and so cutting out the idle valve signals
