If it is a 3 way fridge (240v /12v/gas) then you only have a problem with the gas side, the fridges are designed to run off 240v hook up / 12v supply - only powered when engine is running (not to run off leisure battery) and a gas supply (propane/butane) the gas supply could be turned off at the appliance isolation tap, or the burner/jet could be blocked by carbon. or the simple answer could be that your fridge is only designed to run off electricity in which case there is nothing wrong with it. If it is a gas problem please leave it to a professional.
