How can I get the filter out of my Zanussi 1600 which is not drying well?

I assume the filter may be blocked, tried to remove it, got the front unscrewed but don't know how to get the filter out. Keep pulling? Manual lost.

it does pull out but if its well and truely blocked up you may have to prise it out with a screwdriver carefully
