Hi I hope someone can help? I have the above washing machine and it is only 2years old (just out of warranty). The other day the closed tap light came on (for no reason we checked) now the clean the pump light has come on and it doesnt do anything I keep getting an error message saying fp? No idea what the problem is,we have taken the pump out had nothing except some fluff still doesnt work. It will spin but nothing else. Anyone any ideas? your help would be appreciated!

The lights come on but its not filling up plus the timer is showing up wrong, I;E 3mins instead of 30

My machine has done the same. I later found out that the pump did not need to be replaced. What I finally did was to place the machine on its side, remove the hose to the drum and remove the blockage, i.e. 1 leg of socks. After this the problem was resolved. Try this and see what happens.

what a rubbish machine. ours does exactly the same. i have cleaned and drained the machine several times. ensuring no kinks in the drain hose. i even spent £30 on a new pump to eliminate this as a potential fix. fitted correctly the problem still exists...new washing machine but not a Whirlpool!

when you removed pump did you remove back casing to check if elastic band or wire etc caught in impellor thats what was up with mine now ok

this is a bad month for Whirlpool awo3551 because ours has just done the same - the clean pump light. Well I won't bother going to trouble of taking it out if it didn;t work for you - have you been able to fix it yet and how?
