How do I replace the switch on a dyson DC04?

The switch/cable has an intermitent fault. My problem is I cannot find out how to release the cover securing the switch. There is a small slot behind the cover which looks as if it enables a catch to be release with small screwdriver etc but so far cant get the cover off! Any advice greatfully received.

thanks jeff

After the green button has been removed using the bent screwdriver technique, http://ukvacuumspares.cardpayment.net/_private/misi.htm
take the time to make a mark at the top of the square where the tag of the green button locates into ,remove switch assembly drill a small hole in the grey plastic body. Next time the cable/switch needs to be repaired simply gently push a small screwdiver in the hole to dislocate the tag.

Hi Jeff

I have just repaired my intermittent Mains connection - same problem as you had removing the switch assy.

Go to the following site - it has an excellent guide for removing the switch
