Hi Marzena,
Some Lexmark cartridges are designed so that once they are empty they short circuit themselves and cannot be reused even if theyve been refilled, these are called prebate cartridges and the box carries a license agreement wherby you are agreeing not to reuse the cartridges once empty. These prebate cartridges are normally sold a little cheaper than others that fit your printer but don't short circuit once theyre empty.
The other possibility is that the electronic strip on your cartridge has simply failed and the printer no longer recognises them, Lexmark and other manufacturers are deliberately under engineering their cartridges so that they cannot be reused or refilled several times as was the case in years gone by. Printer manufacturers are aware of how much revenue refillers like Cartridge World take away from them and are fighting back using these methods while claiming to be green and offering so called recycling facilities at the same time as making their cartridges difficult if not impossible to recycle/reuse.

i would assume the original cartidges have a chip on them to tell the printer its a new one,
when that chip tells the printer its empty no amount of refilling will fool the printer software.
Its Lemarks waying of insuring you only buy new Lemark ink.

Printing should still occur its just the amount left will not show.
