fix my singer 6233 sewing machine?

the thread on the bottom is looping in large loops. I tried to reset the tention. when the needle goes down to pick up the lower thread it gets caought on something and just loops up. How do I fix this.

check for a burr on the metal around the bobbin case after adjusting my tention several times i found mine to have a crack and was getting caught.
