Sharp ERC 440 - manuel?

I brought this register second hand and the previous owner is missing the manuel. Can someone help?

How do i make a sale using this register?
For example. How do i enter $3.2 +$3.5 and pay with $10. How do i do this on the register? i've spent ages trying to figure out. I just got rid of the message E32 on the display but i don't know how to enter orders.

I went to this site and found free Sharp cash register
manuals. The manuals are in PDF format so they can be save to a flash Drive.

Hi Mark,

I can't seem to print off the end of day sale report on the register. I've done what you've suggest, i've turned the key to X1/Z1 and typed 100 but nothing happens. The 100 stays on the screen. I tried pressing the TL key but it doesn't either. Am i missing something?

Thanks again.

Oh my god!!!! thank you SOO much. its makes SO much sense now. I'm so glad you responded to me, it will definitely come in handy tomorrow. I do mean the ER-A 440, i actually tried doing every possible search combination on google but no avail (not free anyway).

Can you please teach me to reprogram the 'department' keys. They were redefined by the previous owner and i would like to change them so the receipt will say "coffee" instead of "basket".

I have emailed Sharp to send me a copy of the manuel so then i can stop hassling you.

Thank you so much, you definitely a life saver.

Hi. I assume you mean the ER-A440. I know these well. I haven't found an online manual, but they are pretty straight forward to use.

Turn the key to REG mode.
type the first price (dollars and cents with no decimal point e.g $3.20 would be 320)
Now press a department button. These are the item buttons to the right of the number pad. This is like the plus button on the calculator, except that it has a label attached to it so you can keep sales in categories.
Now type next price, then a dept button again, until all items of the sale are entered.
Now press SUBTOTAL (may be called ST). This will show the sale total. Ask the customer for this amount.
Now we do payment. If they pay by cheque, or credit etc, we don't need to calculate any change, so just press a payment button, and the drawer will open.
If they pay by cash, and you want to know the change, then type in the amount the customer handed in cash to you (remember, no decimal point, so $50 would be 5000), then press CASH (may be called TL). The change will appear on the display, and the drawer will open.

That's how you make a sale. Practice makes perfect.
The old E32 gets everyone. You just weren't logged on to the machine.

Some other notes:

To correct an entry (when you have pressed a department button), just press the VOID button (may look like an infinity symbol - sideways number 8), and you will see a minus sign appear, then just type the correct price, and department.

The customer receipt can be set to print on every sale, or only when requested. If it doesn't print, and your cust. asks for one, just press the receipt button (May be called RCPT) at the end of the sale, and it will print a receipt for that sale.

At the end of the day, you need to issue a sales report to clear the daily totals.

Turn key to Z (or Z1), and type 100 . X TL (on some models, the X button is called @/for). It will print a report showing what went into your departments, how much cash, credit etc. Your first report will probably be meaningless, if you have not done one before, then it will be correct for next day.

Hope that is enough to get you started.

Let me know if you need more help.
